What characteristics do you look for in "the right candidate?"
Do you look for someone with similar beliefs? Do you vote for the candidate who has the most experience in office? Do you look for the candidate with the fanciest campaign banners or do you simply vote for candidates within your same political party?
No matter which method you use to choose your elected official, they won't be very effective in office if you don't keep them informed.
I've heard people complaining about the state of the government, I've heard them give their opinions as to how to resolve certain issues, I have NEVER heard them say that they were in contact with their Representative about it.
The blame for the state of our government does not lie solely in the hands of our Congress or the President.
If you voted for them - the responsibility is also in YOUR hands.
One of my goals in running for office is to get the American people active in their government again! We've fallen into the hole we're in because we've forgotten our role in it all...
Our government begins in the local community -
in your home, at your office, at high school ball games,
after church service each Sunday.
Wherever we gather and wherever we discuss issues,
that is where we begin shaping our government and our future.
It's my goal to meet you in those places; to listen to those discussions and to inspire you to take action!
If you stand behind me, I'll stand behind you
and together we can set things right.
